Hello, my name is...

"Wait, so are you Dorothy or Annie?" "So if your name is Dorothy why do people call you Annie?" "If your name is Annie why do people call you Dorothy?" Peoples curiousity is what I have had to answer my whole life. I always have disliked it. I have never understood why my parents named me Dorothy yet told people I was Annie. I feel like after I started growing up my parents realized I wasn't a Dorothy anymore. Instead I looked more like an Annie. Or secretly they wanted all three of their childrens' names to begin with A's; Alex, Andrew, and then Annie. Or they wanted a fourth child but didn't want to go through having another child, so decided to give their last first and only girl two names. I have never been told the true meaning so it still very confusing. In one class be called Annie, then an hour later, in another class, I'm Dorothy. Then, people will say "You look more like an Annie then a Dorothy," or the other way around. What is that supposed to mean? Who is this Annie or Dorothy they have pictured in their head? And how is that me? Little did my parents know this life with a double name would make me not know which one I am. Dorothy Ann Meier or Annie Meier. A persons name is supposed to tell alot about themselves. So how am I supposed to know myself and then share it with others if I don't even know who I am?

Keeping the Journal

Writing is such an important part of our lives, where its writing to tell a memory, writing to tell a story, or writing to tell your thoughts This is what keeps many people sane in this world. So keeping a journal will be very useful. I have a personal journal, which I call my diary, that I write whats going on in my life. Even though I already have a journal there are thoughts, emotions, and memories I forget to write down. So keeping this one will enable my mind to expand to places I didn't know it could go. It will help me to think deeper and become more in tune with my own thoughts. I will especially like keeping a journal in a class enviroment because I will be able to see how other teens minds work. It will be interesting to see how similer and different people trulely are once we start seeing and sharing our work.
I am really excited to write even more then I already do. I am at a stage in my life that is simply wonderful. I have gone through alot to get here though. So I can't wait to keep my thoughts organized, which will keep my life as blissful and perfect as it is now.
